I made some changes to this page. I think it looks much better. There are now links that highlight some of my interests.
Scissorfight is one of my favorite bands and a local favorite of Boston. Though they changed the format of the page it doesn't tell much about them other than their more recent shows. I'd like to say they'll change it soon though it's been more than a year and it's hardly changed at all. Still, an amazing band.
The West Memphis Three are three men that were arrested and charged with a crime that all the evidence shows they are innocent of. I will most likely write something about them here in the future but for now, check out the link and learn about the case.
Russian culture and history is one of my interests. I particularly liked the secretive years of the Soviet era and the third link is a good example of that. In it a Russian woman explores the remains of the Chernobyl power plant and the surrounding town while giving a history of what happened there. Considering the magnitude of the incident, we really know very little. It's shocking how dangerous it was, what the results were and how much worse it could have been.
Ghost towns are another subject that fascinates me. One of my favorites is the town of Centralia in Pennsylvania and the story of the still burning coal fire that killed the town. Few residents still live there but the town has no future.
Eyewitness to History is another historical site that I visit often. It is a site consisting of first hand accounts of major events in history, from the burning of Rome to the sinking of the Titanic and the invasion of Normandy.
